Matthew B. Andelman, Associate
While at Williams & Connolly, Mr. Andelman represented both individuals and businesses in high-stakes litigation. He showed particular skill for uncovering hidden assets and wrongly-withheld documents. In one case, Mr. Andelman successfully showed that a party claiming a lack of assets had secretly transferred millions of dollars to his family and friends. In a separate case, Mr. Andelman sifted through thousands of financial records and took numerous depositions to determine that a party claiming tens of millions of dollars in business damages was instead perpetrating a massive tax fraud. Mr. Andelman has also worked with experts on damages and business valuation issues. As part of his trial experience, Mr. Andelman won a significant international arbitration judgment, plus attorneys’ fees, in a breach of contract action. Mr. Andelman participated in many other complex litigation and settlement proceedings while associated with Williams & Connolly LLP.
Mr. Andelman graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Michigan Law School in 2001. He received his B.A. from Haverford College in 1997. Prior to joining Williams & Connolly, he served as a judicial clerk for Judge Ronald M. Gould of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Seattle. Mr. Andelman is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and California.
