Daniel A. Lewis, Associate

Mr. Lewis acquired considerable family law experience prior to joining the firm while serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support Services Division at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. In this capacity, he represented the District of Columbia and custodial parents in child support hearings (i.e., establishment, enforcement, modification and civil contempt proceedings) before both associate and magistrate judges in the D.C. Family Court. Prior to becoming a family lawyer, Mr. Lewis provided counsel to a major financial institution.
Mr. Lewis received a B.A. in American Studies from Union College in 1998 and a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in 2002. While in law school, Mr. Lewis was a member of the Siegel Cup National Moot Court team and was first exposed to family law issues while serving as a student attorney at the Columbus Community Legal Services Clinic.
Mr. Lewis is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Family Law sections of the Montgomery County, Maryland, Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. Mr. Lewis regularly volunteers at the Family Court Self-Help Center of the District of Columbia Superior Court.
